Scholarships Description
The FIG Foundation will be providing scholarships of up to 4,000 euros to PhD students. 
Successful candidates will qualify for a further grant of up to 3,000 Euros to attend and present a peer reviewed paper

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should belong to in a country listed by the World Bank as a low-income, lower-middle or upper-middle income economy
Applicants must have had a paper accepted by a peer reviewed international journal based on their doctoral research project; applicants should be the lead author, and the paper should be co-authored with their supervisor
Applicants should not have submitted their final thesis at the application deadline

Candidates should submit the following documents in English in this order as a single file in PDF format on A4 paper
Applications are to be sent to fig.foundation@fig.net with “FIG Foundation PhD Scholarship Application” shown in the Subject Line
A copy of the paper that has been re-submitted to the journal after corrections have been completed.
A letter from the editor of the journal indicating that the paper has been accepted and that the necessary corrections have been completed satisfactorily.
A list of peer reviewed journal publications over the last 6 years using the International Journal of GIS reference list format. See Notes for Authors on the IJGIS website.
A list of research funding obtained over the past 5 years, indicating which grants are peer reviewed or not.
A description of research compliance, the research account and activity auditing structures and processes in their institution.
A copy of the ethics approval notice for the research from the institution if that is relevant to the grant application.
If ethics clearance is not required, then this should be stated in the application.
A budget indicating how the funds will be spent and a one page justification of the budget. Note that as a general rule, equipment will not be funded. Travel to FIG Conferences to present results and tuition fees may be included in the budget. Per diems for field work will not be funded, but reasonable actual costs of field work are refundable.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicant’s age doesn’t exceed (35) years For PhD, and (30) years for Masters.
Applicant must have a university degree from an accredited college or university and should have a degree with “very good” at least.
An approved exam in English is required for applicant whose first language is not English. The approved exams and minimum required scores are listed below:

King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Scholarship Covers
A monthly bursary of SR 1,900 
A preparation allowance when coming for the first time of  SR 1,800.
The candidate would receive the health care
Providing an accommodation and facilities.
Subsidized meals can be provided for the candidate.
A total sum of SR 4,000 for PhD, and SR 3.000 for masters' allowance for printing the thesis.
An allowance of SR 2,700 for shipping books (when graduated).
Providing the candidate with a two-way ticket annually.

Eligibility Criteria
Application for the scholarship is open for prospective IBA students (thus, not currently enrolled students) starting their studies in 2016/2017 from all non-EEA countries, provided they would be charged the non-EEA tuition fee
The scholarship takes the form of a waiver being the amount of money that will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee. The waiver fully covers the difference between the non-EEA tuition fee and the EEA tuition fee. You will always have to pay at least the statutory tuition fee.  For the scholarship, no actual transmission of money takes place. The scholarship part of the non-EEA tuition fee will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee before the start of the academic year, enabling you to immediately pay the reduced tuition fee; either at once or in instalments.
The amount of the scholarship for the academic year 2016/2017 is approximately 6,500 euro
Only students who are not recipients of any other scholarships exceeding the amount of 5,000 euro in total in that same academic year can apply for the scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

MS Eligibility Criteria
KAUST requires a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT (Internet Based Test) or 6.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The KAUST admissions code is 4107. Only official TOEFL or IELTS scores will be accepted. TOEFL or IELTS scores for tests administered by an educational institution for admission to that particular institution are not acceptable.
A TOEFL or IELTS score is not required if the applicant received a degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
KAUST does not require the GRE exam for admission. However, we strongly encourage students to take the GRE general test. A high quantitative score on the GRE will enhance a student's application. Official test results should be sent directly from ETS. The KAUST admissions code is 4139. The average GRE quantitative score for admitted students is currently 774 out of 800.

PHD Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. program requires the successful completion of at least 96 credit hours, (inclusive of previous Master’s Degree coursework). Qualification and advancement to candidacy are contingent upon
Successfully passing Ph.D. coursework
Designating a research advisor
Successfully passing a qualifying exam
Writing and orally defending a research proposal. Possible outcomes include pass, failure with complete retake, failures with partial retake, and failure with no retake. Students not permitted to retake the exam, or who fail the retake, will be dismissed from the University. The maximum allotted time for advancement to candidacy for a student entering with a M.S. degree is two years; three years for students entering with a B.S.

Universities will inform candidates of their results by July 2016.
