Qatar
Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree
No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in
the State of Qatar.
The
principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures are the
exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil, natural gas
and gas liquids, refined products, synthetic fuels, petrochemicals, fuel
additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas (LNG), steel and aluminum.
Qatar
Petroleum is offering scholarships to Qatari students in order to meet the
needs of industry and Energy sectors for a highly qualified workforce. This
scholarship provides opportunity to Qatari students to continue their higher
education studies within or outside Qatar.

Eligibility
Criteria
Be a Qatari citizen.
Be 25 years old or less.
Possess a High School Certificate or its equivalent,
obtained in 2015 or 2014 with an overall mark of at least:
80% for students from Qatari and Arabic
Schools.
75% for students from Western schools.
Certificate should be authenticated by the Supreme Education Council.
Acquire an official certificate of IELTS or TOEFL iBT,
with a minimum score of 5.5 in the IELTS or 71 in the TOEFL iBT (Internet Based
TOEFL).
Provide an Unconditional Acceptance Letter to study a
degree program in a discipline required by Qatar Petroleum.
The offering university should be recognized by the
Higher Education Institute.
Pass the personal interview.
Accept the department and work location assigned to him
by Qatar Petroleum.
For
Direct Scholarship
Must
have high school certificate of year 2014 or later with at least 80% marks (for
students studied in Qatari or Arabic schools) and 75% marks (for students
studied in western schools).
High
school certificate must be authenticated by Supreme Education Council (for
western school).
Must
have certificate of IELTS or TOEFL iBT with at least 5.5 score in IELTS or 71
in the TOEFL iBT.
Must
provide an acceptance letter to study a degree program.
For
University Transfer
Applicant
will have to select the field of study provided by the Qatar Petroleum.
Applicant
must have completed 36 credit hours with at least 3.0 CGPA (For credit hour
based system)
OR
Applicant
must have completed one year of degree with at least 60% marks (For yearly
based system)

There
are two categories of candidates who can apply for the University Program
Scholarship:
Direct
Scholarship
This category applies to candidates who have recently graduated from high school and who are proceeding to university degree programs. The High School Certificate should not be more than two years old.

Transfer
This category applies to candidates who are already enrolled in university degree studies and who are seeking transfer to QP Scholarship. These type of candidates could already have a sponsor such as the Supreme Education Council but are willing to transfer their sponsorship with Qatar Petroleum.
