Higher Education Commission (HEC) are offering joint scholarships for Pakistani students. These scholarships are only offered for Semester 2 of each year for candidates entering into the PhD program in these countries: Australia, UK, Germany, France, New Zealand, China, Turkey and Austria.

Scholarship Covers
·                     Tuition fees

·                     A return international airfare to Sydney or Canberra up to a maximum of 48 months

Eligibility Conditions
·                     Pakistani/AJK nationals
·                     Must have minimum Eighteen years of education
·                     Maximum two second divisions throughout the academic career
·                     Maximum age on April 30, 2016 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector Universities/Colleges and employees of the public sector and organizations
·                     35 years for all others
·                     Applicants need to have minimum cumulative 50% academic marks as per HEC Academic Evaluation Formula (HEC-AEF)
·                     The candidates who are already availing any other scholarship are not eligible to apply

Scholarships Details
All expressions of interest must meet the CSC’s overall funding cap of £18,000 per scholarship
This value must cover all elements of the award, including:
Tuition fees
Applicable partnership development costs
A UK residential program
If the actual costs of delivering the course are higher than £18,000, the university must clearly identify the source of top-up funding in its expression of interest, and any subsequent proposal
Funding is available for five years from the start of an approved program

Eligibility Criteria
Be a citizen of a developing Commonwealth country, refugee, or British protected person
Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases

The application cycle for Distance Learning Scholarships has three stages
The CSC invites expressions of interest from UK universities for Distance Learning Scholarships (August September)
The CSC invites formal proposals from shortlisted universities, deciding which courses to select and how many scholarships to allocate to each course (November-January)
The CSC selects candidates for Distance Learning Scholarships from a shortlist of candidates nominated by each university following its own recruitment process (February-July)

Eligibility Criteria

MS Eligibility Criteria
KAUST requires a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT (Internet Based Test) or 6.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The KAUST admissions code is 4107. Only official TOEFL or IELTS scores will be accepted. TOEFL or IELTS scores for tests administered by an educational institution for admission to that particular institution are not acceptable.
A TOEFL or IELTS score is not required if the applicant received a degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
KAUST does not require the GRE exam for admission. However, we strongly encourage students to take the GRE general test. A high quantitative score on the GRE will enhance a student's application. Official test results should be sent directly from ETS. The KAUST admissions code is 4139. The average GRE quantitative score for admitted students is currently 774 out of 800.

PHD Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. program requires the successful completion of at least 96 credit hours, (inclusive of previous Master’s Degree coursework). Qualification and advancement to candidacy are contingent upon
Successfully passing Ph.D. coursework
Designating a research advisor
Successfully passing a qualifying exam
Writing and orally defending a research proposal. Possible outcomes include pass, failure with complete retake, failures with partial retake, and failure with no retake. Students not permitted to retake the exam, or who fail the retake, will be dismissed from the University. The maximum allotted time for advancement to candidacy for a student entering with a M.S. degree is two years; three years for students entering with a B.S.
